Filming Guidelines

Phone cameras are great! Make sure you film in landscape mode (phone on its side). Set your camera in a position where it will capture the entire performance at a height that works best for you (eye level is a good place to start).

Look for a background that is visually appealing. Be sure to light yourself well! Natural light and lamps work well. If you have other equipment you prefer to use, by all means, use what you have!

IMPORTANT! Remember to shoot a test video first and check the points we mentioned above. Once you are satisfied with the test, record your video.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What type of talent can I submit?
    • Our community has a vast range of talent! Submit whatever your talent may be. Suggestions: sing, perform a magic trick, read a poem, stand up comedy, paint, play an instrument, TikTok videos, dance.
  • Should I be concerned with music rights?
    • It is possible Twitch or Facebook mutes the sound of a video with popular music. If this occurs during the broadcast, we will do our best to get the video back up. Music in the background tends to not be a concern. Using different versions of a popular song is less likely to be muted. If the talent is singing a popular song, it won’t be an issue, as it is in your voice.
  • How can we record a group performance?
    • We encourage those who wish to submit a group performance to submit a Zoom style video due to COVID-19 safety guidelines and restrictions.
  • Is there a maximum amount of people we can have in our video?
    • No, but due to COVID-19 safety guidelines and restrictions, we encourage Zoom style group performances.
